Citygrid is a smart wireless lighting control system that balances the need to minimise energy usage with the needs of the people within the space. Motion detection ensures no energy is wasted. Roads, bike paths and parking spaces remain illuminated at minimum levels when not used.
The system consists of controllers and motion sensors. The sensors detect traffic and forward the information to the controllers, which in turn control the light level of luminaires. Any neighboring luminaires are notified wirelessly to also act on the presence detection. The light level increases (dims up*) for a defined period of time following the presence detection, and once the defined time has elapsed the luminaires dim down to a base light level. Citygrid offers a wide selection of different controllers and sensors to accommodate the needs of your desired luminaires and the specifics of your site.

This means a development area or refurbishment project with luminaries including Citygrid controllers will start to operate with motion detection as soon as they are powered on even if further commissioning is planned.
